Interior Specs

The real changes being brought to the SUV are in this domain. The SUV would now feature an optional 4G LTE connection and also a Wi-Fi hotspot that would allow 10 devices and up to a maximum of a 50 feet radius. Not only that, this connection would able the owner of the Explorer to lock, unlock or even locate the car using the FordPass app. There are also a lot of new safety features that has been included. There will be blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert, rain sensing wipers and automatic high beams. Thus you can see how much the 2018 Ford Explorer is getting this time.

Engine power overview

The powertrain from the Explorer would, however, remain unchanged. This is because the car is already far too capable in this domain and there is hardly any in the market that can compete its power. The base model offers a 3.5 litre V6 engine, that would provide with 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. There is a mid range that offers a 2.3 litre turbocharged I4 engine that provides 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. The pro model is 3.5 litre turbocharged V6 engine that would give 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque.
