2018 Ford Fiesta Sedan & Hatchback Review

The 2018 Ford Fiesta continues the tradition of one of the most popular subcompact vehicles in Europe. It is set to be released in the first quarter of 2018. It will also be available in Middle East and Africa.

Exterior and Interior Design

We know that the 2018 Ford Fiesta Euro-Spec will be available in S, SE, ST and Titanium trim levels, in both 3-door and 5-door hatchback variants, as well as in the sedan variant. It received a significant exterior redesign. All exterior panels are new and the body is stiffer than before.

It’s wheelbase is now slightly longer and wider, making it larger than before. The body now has more curves, a slightly more aggressive front bumper and grille, and it rides on the 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the dashboard of the 2018 Ford Fiesta received more appealing look and new interface with lots of volume and tuning knobs, and an 8.0-inch touch display, that comes with preinstalled Sync 3 infotainment sustem. The interior is functional and easy to use, and it offers more personalisation than before.

As we have already mentioned, the car is now larger, so it also has more room inside, with expanded rear space. There is more headroom in the front than in the back, so taller people should be seated in front. Still, Fiesta is very comfortable.

2018 Ford Fiesta Engine Options

So far, we have details for only three engine types. First, there is a 1.0-liter EcoBoost petrol engine with three cylinders that can produce 138 horsepower. Model with this engine will most likely be available in the United States.

Second gasoline choice includes a 1.1-liter Inline-3 engine, while the diesel option includes a turbocharged 1.5-liter Inline-4 unit. The diesel unit will most likely be available with the 2018 Ford Fiesta ST model, producing 200 hp and 214 lb-ft (290 Nm) of torque.

All units come paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission with torque converter and cylinder deactivation tech. The new ST model can reach the speed of 62 mph in 6.7 seconds, with its top speed being about 140 mph.

Owners can choose between three different modes: Normal, Sport, and Track; and also can turn off one of the cylinders in just 14 milliseconds, in order to improve fuel efficiency.

New Fiesta 2018 Release Date, Price

The new Ford Fiesta is going to be released in Europe, Middle East and Africa in early 2018. At this moment, we don’t have any info regarding its release date in the U.S. Given that only the 1st- and 6th-generation versions have been sold in the United States, there is a chance that this model won’t be available in North America, but never say never. Expected price tag starts at £19,000 or £20,000 in the United Kingdom.
