The 2018 Land Rover Range Rover SUV lineup brings a variety of models, engine options, tweaked styling (both inside and out), equipment and accessories. We believe that the new Valor model will be one of the most popular luxury SUVs out there. And let’s not forget about the full-size plug-in-hybrid model, which goes on sale next year.
If you look at the attached photos, you will notice that exterior of the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover has not been dramatically changed since the last major update. It still features a squared-off, boxy design with flat surfaces, but without sharp edges, it’s still quite elegant.
As we have said in the introduction, the new Range Rover is offered in a variety of trim levels, each one with different exterior equipment and styling upgrades. All models, however, feature a revised bumper with wider vent blades in the front, and integrated exhaust tips in the rear end. Headlights with 24 LEDs and daytime running lights are also standard for all models, while the taillights received a fresh new look. On the other hand, more expensive models get a new mesh grille with chrome inserts.
“Our approach was to find ways of enhancing the Range Rover’s traditional appeal without making too dramatic a change. We therefore set out to create an uncluttered graphic that embodied a cleanliness and quality of design, with flush detailing and a greater emphasis on overall cohesion,” says Gerry McGovern.
Shoppers can choose between six alloy wheel designs, which get sizing up to 22 inches in diameter. Some of the available colors include: Rossello Red, Byron Blue, Narvik Black, Shadow Atlas, just to mention a few. Additional design packs, such as the Black Exterior Pack or the Shadow Exterior Pack, can also be ordered.
The same goes for the interior of the 2018 Land Rover Range Rover, only minor changes were made. However, it now has more space than ever, especially inside the long-wheel-base models. And not just for the passengers, the rear bench can be folded flat to accommodate more luggage and stuff. Smaller storage bins were added as well. With lots of leg room and 16-way adjustable seats (or optional 20-way or 24-way adjustable units) covered in premium leather or non-traditional materials, travelers will certainly enjoy a comfortable ride.
Interior also offers a lot of equipment: the advanced infotainment system, 12-inch interactive driver display, additional heads-up display that projects info onto the windshield, power-deployable center console, 10-inch InControl Touch Pro Duo TFT touchscreens, seats with heating and cooling function and 25 different massage programs, 4G and Wi-Fi connectivity, power sockets, USB connections, HDMI ports, 380-watt 13-speaker Meridian audio system (optional are 825-watt 19-speaker and 1,700-watt 29-speaker systems), LED ambient lighting, and various safety systems.

The 2018 Land Rover Range Rover is available in several variants, so each variant comes with a different engine option. There’s are two 3.0L supercharged V-6 units that deliver either 340 hp (SE) or 380 horsepower (HSE). Diesel option includes a 3.0L turbo V-6 producing 254 horsepower, rated at 28 mpg on the highway (SE Td6 and HSE Td6). Next, there are two supercharged 5.0-liter V-8 units, producing either 518 hp (Supercharged, Autobiography trim levels) or 557 horsepower (SVAutobiography Dynamic). All engines are paired with an 8-speed auto transmission sending power to the four-wheel drive system.
Now, according to Cars.com, the 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport gets a base 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder delivering 237 horsepower and 251 pounds-feet of torque, and another one with a little bit more power – 286 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, which allows the SUV to reach the speed of 62 mph in 6.7 seconds. These two are mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox and rated at 22 mpg combined.
Next, the 2018 Range Rover Evoque comes with the same powertrains as the Discovery Sport, however, the Convertible model only gets the base unit. The two models are rated at 25 mpg and 24 mpg combined, respectively.
There is also a brand new 2018 Land Rover Range Rover Velar, available with the three engine options:
1. turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 247 horsepower,
2. turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 180 horsepower,
3. supercharged 6-cylinder gasoline engine producing 380 horsepower.
Both the 2018 Range Rover Evoque and 2018 Discovery Sport will go on sale at the same time, customers will be able to get them in mid-November, according to Cars.com.
The base Evoque SUV is priced at $42,795, its Convertible counterpart costs $53,095, the HSE Dynamic model costs $3,000 more than the base model, while the Autobiography model can be bought for $66,595. The two-door model has been terminated and won’t go into production this time.
The new Discovery Sport has a base price of $38,790. Add $7,000 and $6,000 to that price for the Sport HSE and Sport HSE Luxury models, respectively. With all the equipment, the price goes up to $53,890.
On the other hand, according to TopSpeed.com, the base SE and HSE models with petrol engines are priced at $87,350 and $94,050, while the diesel variants SE Td6 and HSE Td6 cost $89,350 and $96,050, respectively.
The Supercharged and Autobiography models with short wheel base starts at $104,850 and $141,995, while the same models with long base are priced at $108,895 and $148,295, respectively. The most-expensive SVAutobiography Dynamic model is available for $177,200, add long wheel base and the price rises up to $207,900.
The brand-new model for the Range Rover lineup is the 2018 Range Rover Velar. Customers can get this beautiful model for $49,900 (base model with I-4 petrol engine), $56,200 (model with diesel engine) or $64,200 (the one with supercharged V-6 unit).
The Range Rover Hybrid P400e will most likely cost around $95,000, however, it won’t be available until the end of 2018, for the 2019 model year.
